Message: | You can get decent breakfast at Dupar's, there is one in Studio City, and another at Farmer's Market. They used to have fabulous buttermilk donuts, all kinds of pastrys, and oh so good cheese pies. I say pie and not cheese cake because they were more cream cheese and whipped cream with a ton of boysenberries or blueberries or strawberrys. Very creamy not at all like a baked cheese cake. If they are still using their original buttermilk pancake recipe it is legendary. My mother used to buy their pancake batter by the quart and bring it home to use. Dupar's in the Farmers Market also has the added benefit of being right next to all the other food and beverage stalls at Farmers Market. You can pig out on all kinds of ethnic foods, and barbeque, and hit the juice bar, or the bakeries, or the candy makers. For truly classic fast food pastrami go to the Hat in Pasadena, Alhambra or Monterey Park. When I eat two of their pastrami sandwiches I get a reall good stomach ache. Get the Hat's fries, a small order is like anyone else's large order, and these are really good, thick cut, potatoes. My hat is off to the Hat's fries, in my simple minded opinion they are the best fast food fries in LaLa Land. |
