Your burger quest was especially hilarious and enlightening. I'm glad you not only braved your whirlwind introduction to Ethiopian cuisine, but shared it with us in such an entertaining piece.
 
Not having had the real McCoy as you have, I can't vouch for authenticity, but Nyala here in LA does a very good cup of coffee, and the presentation is as intricate and involved as you describe. It was a revelation to this coffee lover.
 
I'm starting to get a hankering for some kitffo. It looks like Messob will be in my sights this weekend. Cheers!
