Message: | Had a couple of great meals last week at Le Petit Bistro -- 13360 Ventura Blvd.in sherman Oaks(818-501-7999). Both were a great value. The lamb shank with pasta was almost enough for two -- delicious cold weather stick to your ribs-meal- tender meat falling of bone... Crispy duck in a ginger citrus sauce: 3 large pieces of duck, with the best skinny french fries I've had in a long time. Shared an endive blue cheese and candied walnut salad that was crisp and creamy at the same time. Both entrees were under $15. The mussels also look great.
I went back a couple of days later for their Lobster dinner special (Mon. and Tues. evenings by reservation). $15.95 gets you a perfectly done 1 1/4 lb. Maine lobster with saffron rice and french green beans. All delicious.
I really love the very French decor and bistro feel of this place. You can plop yourself down in one of their booths, order a glass of Merlot, dip into their complimentary Tapenade and feel a million miles away from "The Valley". And some of the best service I've had -- friendly and very professional. |
