Message: | Thanks to Carter, I found the place and here is a brief review. It is a very small restaurant on 3rd Street with only about 25 - 30 covers. The decor is very warm and comfortable with an interesting wood ceiling. The menu is American comfort food. Ribs, steaks, mashed potatoes, etc. I had a rib-eye steak which was excellent with fried onions and scallion mashed-potatoes. The steak was perfectly cooked and very tasty although the portion of potatoes was a little small. Also, the juice from the meat overpowered the flavor of the scallions in the potatoes. My dinner companions had the filet and veal chop which were also big hits. Dessert was a very good warm apple tart and a banana mousse pie/cake which was good (but I don't really like banana-based desserts). The service was excellent and the prices were fairly reasonable. Entrees were in the low to mid-20 dollar range. The wine list looked interesting, but we brought our own so I didn't take a real close look. All in all a very good dining experience, but nothing amazing. |
