Message: | I used to get my steaks well done as a kid, mainly because my parents didn't want me eating rare beef for some inexplicable reason. Probably the whole e-coli scare, etc. My mom still gets her steaks "Very well done, almost burnt". My dad gets his medium. Some people must like the "burnt" taste of the charcol, sort of like blackened chicken or fish. However, they must drown their steaks in A1 or Heinz 57 just to hide the leathery taste and texture. I mean, I would do that too if the steak sucks, but usually I like my steaks medium rare, with nothing other than having it sizzilin' in butter (ala ruth's chris')
