Message: | One of my favorites is Thach Che Hien Khanh in the Little Saigon area of Orange County on Westminster (in a little strip mall). This store specializes in Vienamese desserts only.
I prefer the warm desserts over the iced ones but both are good. They have one with bananas cooked in coconut milk with these chewy jelly strips and tapioca. It is topped with a glop of more coconut milk stuff and sesame seeds - very good! They also have beans and sweet rice, mung bean or banana stuffed chewy tapioca balls, fresh corn and coconut milk, all topped with more coconut milk and sesame seeds.
They also have a confection that is about 3" round, the top and bottom is a translucent green, very chewy jelly and the middle is sweetened mung bean paste - I always have to order some!
They have much more and many I have not tried yet. I don't know the names of any but it's easy to just point to the one you want since they are in big pans and then put together in a bowl when you order the dessert.
They are very inexpensive so it makes it easy to try different desserts without worrying about wasting your money if you don't like it.
