All other eateries in L.A. Not best of their kinds -- just where I'm happiest, most comfortable, have the most history, relationships, etc...
In no particular order:
1. Sally's -- because it will always set the pizza standard for me
2. Charlie's -- for decent greasy breakfast and because I've spent so much of my life at the Farmer's Market
3. In n Out -- because I'm assuming nobody checks cholesterol on a desert island...
4. Zankou -- because I'm down with the c-hounds
5. Angeli -- because the chef was once my babysitter and because 80s Calif Italian is my idea of comfort food
6. Saito sushi -- because othewise he'd go out of business
7. Mandarin Deli -- because Thi took it off his list and because of all the Chinese food I've had lately it's what I could have everyday
8. Allegria -- for the tacos crema, and because the waitress was in my highschool drama class
9a. the old Ships -- hey, on a desert island it might still be around
9b. Canters -- before they had that ugly union battle and my organizer friends wouldn't let me go anymore
10. Musso and Frank -- because on my island it's martinis not mai tais... |
