Message: | First off, I doubt the wine mentioned below is indeed the Cru Classe that this chateau is known for. I've never heard of the "Prelude" prefix that the wine for sale on winesearcher speaks of. It is probably a third wine, not even on the level of their second, Artigues-Arnaud. The price of the Cru Classe wine should be in the $40 range. It's a bordeaux (Paulliac) and is around 70% Cab Sauv, 25% Merlot, with some Petit Verdot. It is a medium/full bodied wine, not as big as many Paulliacs. 95 was a great vintage for Paulliac, and a pretty good one for this wine. With a little air it is probably drinking OK now, and would probably be best with a few more years of cellaring (or being decanted quite awhile prior to drinking). |
