Message: | Here are my Chinatown favorites: Seafood: Full House on Hill. Can handle large parties. Kitchen is usually lightning fast. Big crowds on weekend nights, always a good sign. Portions are generous. I like the Walnut Shrimp, Dry Fried String Beans, Clams and Scallops any which way. We like to park on the street to the west and stroll thru the Old Chinatown mall. Some art galleries are trying to make a go of it there. Dim Sum: Golden Dragon on Broadway. Been going here for over 40 years now so there is a comfort factor. Over this period of time the kitchen has had its ebb and flow. But I like it much better than the frenetic pace and crush of people at Empress. Empress for out-of -towners, Golden Dragon for me. Noodles/Dumplings: Mandarin Deli on Broadway. Mostly a lunch spot for great dumplings, noodles, scallion pancakes, garlic cukes and tofu salad. WonTon: Mayflower. Another homey lunch spot for a big bowl of BBQ Pork WonTon Fun, but I’ve noticed much more seafood on peoples tables now since the remodel. Pho: Pho Hoa on Spring. My absolute most favorite meal, a big bowl of pho. Again, just a lunch spot. An aspect I don’t see addressed much, but this is probably the most consistent restaurant that I frequent. I’ve been a regular here for over 16 years, going sometimes 4x/month. The soup has always been 97-100% perfect.
