My favorite Mexican Restaurant in Los Angeles County is El Gringo's in Hermosa Beach. It ain't fancy, it's cheap as heck, but it is GOOOD! You can both eat and drink and be stuffed for about 25 bucks (yes, for both of you, including beers)! I'm sure you're looking for something a bit snazzier, but you might want to try this sometime.
 
The portions are huge and the most expensive item I think is only about 7.00! They serve beer, malt liquor beverages and sangria and they have waitresses. If you get a table on the roof, you can see the ocean from there. But, it is a VERY casual restaurant.
