Message: | hi dave, el rincon criollo 4361 sepulveda blvd culver city 310-397-9295 good cuban sandwiches - i think the best in l.a. but can't compare to my all-time favourites at latin american cafeteria at bayside mall in miami - but generally really good cuban food. far better than versailles where they suffer from mass feeding. i'm sorry but i can't taste anything there except for their syrupy marinade. i've asked them about cuban sandwiches and they said they once had them on the menu but didn't have enough demand. i think it's too subtle for their average customer. i like porto's but they lack some soul. when i bite into a real cuban sandwich, i want to barely be able get my mouth around that painfully crusty buttery toasted bread. and the fillings should be so densely pressed that it's really really heavy for its size. theirs is good but a bit suburban. a tip if you go just for sandwiches, get in the express sandwich line on the left, not the main line down the middle which on the weekends will kill you with the wait. but they have a great website with photos over which i've been known to drool while procrastinating from work late at night wishing i could materialize a media noche. see the link below. see flamers? you didn't cover it all. didya? |
