Like all Zagat guides, the ratings are worthless. But... I do find this particular guide useful simply as a kind of phone book. Say I'm looking for a Thai grocery in Pacoima... I can see if one's listed in the Zagat guide. It's by no means comprehensive or reliable, but I keep it in my car, in case I find myself in some unfamiliar neighborhood and feel like doing some food shopping.
