Okay, I'm no big food sophisticate but I have been to lots of the Monterey Park and Alhambra restaurants that get all the attention. I agree totally that Lake Spring was nothing particularly interesting and the pork pump greasy and gamey. The only thing that dazzles me at those places are the ultra-fresh seafoods, right out of the tank. I have liked a place called MPV Seafood where you get these huge barely boiled, so fresh they're screaming, shrimp which you peel yourself and dip into a tasty sauce. They also make a whole crab lightly breaded and fried in what I think they call spicy salt which is just that. However, I question the cleanliness of all of those places which is a bit of a turn off.
