I have been to PDC downtown far more than Santa Monica, but sometimes Santa Monica is more convenient. Both have great steaks, I prefer the original downtown because is more classic. But if I was in Santa Monica looking for a very good steak, PDC is where I would head. There are terrific steaks all over town and I would certainly agree that Ruth Chris, Taylors (for value) and some of the others mentioned are excellent. Nic and Stef's is good, but wouldn't make my top ten. Campanile sometimes has a dynamite Kansas City steak that is top notch
