Message: | Sure thing, Steph ... Mangga Grill - Pretty much anything, and the menu is huge. My faves (so far) include the lengua estofado, the honey-stung chicken, the whitefish in ginger/coconut milk, any of the adobos, the spinach "tempura", the green mango shake, and The Mother of All Halo-Halo's. Imagine a Filipino version of Matsuhisa - cheaper and friendlier. Not dirt cheap, but still reasonable - most entrees in $8-15 range. Manna - Go with a friend and get the Combination A (or more pals, for the B or C) ... for $32 the 2 of you get a pile of wonderful bulgogi, belly meat, fresh and plentiful panchan, and a bottle of soju. Fun atmosphere, puts Woo Lae Oak to shame on both quality and price, but not as "out there" as some other Ktown joints, so a good place to take your more timid friends. Little Malaysia - Also delicious, reasonable, and a big menu. Char kway teow, penang lobok, beef redang, exotic slushy drinks, good eggplant dishes, roti canai, etc. Langers - The pastrami sandwich (I get mine with Muenster and russian dressing, OK, so sue me...) Red Line convenient, or park where you can see your car... Hirozen - The sushi is good, but even better is whatever is on the special small-dishes menu for the day. Very yummy and creative, but not overly fusion-y. Think of it as Japanese tapas. |
