The original logo was an effort of some California State University at Long Beach art students done late at night in order to put up flyers at at Nisei Week, or Obon Festival- one of the two, in 1984. The general idea was to express that all was not whole for gay API men- our lives were separated from our families and communities of orgin. The groups goal was to help bring separate lives as API and as gay men together again. While socializing was an important aspect of the mission, it was to be a place where API men could discuss and make sense of these two worlds.

The modified rainbow logo seen at this website was created by Oscar Hur in January 2002.
