Voice of the People
Deaths the result of failed immigration policy
I commend the Tribune for its two-part series "Crossing the Border: A deadly odyssey" (Page 1, Nov. 17 and 18), a powerful portrayal of the dangerous journey across the U.S.-Mexico border that this past summer claimed the lives of 11 undocumented immigrants found in a rail car in Iowa.

Human victims
We are grateful for Kirsten Scharnberg and Hugh Dellios' two-part series on the attempts to identify both the victims and the perpetrators of the horrifying deaths of 11 migrants in a rail car this fall.

Unique Eminem
This is regarding "Eminem; Unlikely leading man is likely to conquer Hollywood" (Arts & Entertainment, Nov. 3) by Mark Caro, Tribune movie reporter.

Eminem's struggles
Mark Caro did a very good job of comparing Eminem's chances with past musicians trying to make it in Hollywood. The article also did a good job describing Eminem's relationship with the director of "8 Mile." I believe that Eminem has gotten a bad reputation over the years when really he is just saying what so many of us are thinking.

Criminal priests
I'm confused. If separation of church and state still exists (and I don't recall reading that it has been abolished), why does the church get to decide what happens to priests who abuse children?

Anywhere losers
The Chicago Bears don't really need a new stadium. They have proven that they can lose anywhere.

Letters
We invite readers to share their thoughts with us by writing to the Voice of the People, Chicago Tribune, 435 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60611, or sending via fax to 312-222-2598.
