Who says sequels don't work? It's ART THING 2 at Base Gallery, the next installment of "outsider" artists -- Paul Rowland, Antonio Adams, Richard Brown, Raymond Thunder-Sky and a new addition, Rose Sattler. After a rousing reception of the first Art Thing Project earlier this year, an event marked by a number of sales, the very individual views of these creative people demanded a second look. Opening Friday. This is unforgettable art. Info: 513-281-5840.

A word of thanks from the Over-The-Rhine artists and Main Street galleries for tremendous support on April's Final Friday. About 700 visitors toured the PENDLETON ARTS CENTER, and business was booming.

It's pottery time again in Cincinnati and one of the places to go is CINCINNATI ART GALLERIES where 380 lots of Middle Period Roseville will lead off the auction on June 1 at 6 p.m. and wind up with 600 pieces of Rookwood on June 3. In between, there's a collector's bonanza of fabulous ceramics and bunches of rare forms. Preview times are scheduled during regular business hours through Wednesday. Info: 513-381-7527.

The other place to go is the Museum Center at Union Terminal which will host the TREADWAY GALLERIES DECORATIVE ARTS SALE kicking off on June 2 at 10 a.m. with 500 pieces of Rookwood, many signed pieces and a fine selection of Rookwood plaques. On June 3, the sale will start out with Ohio Pottery and wind up with American and European paintings. Info: 513-321-6742.

Landscapes lead. Especially at the YWCA WOMEN'S ART GALLERY where Ursula J. Brenner, Tracy Chappelow, Paula Fletcher, April Foster, Paula Risch Head, M. Katherine Hurley, Velma Morris, Monique Motiff, C.K. Nichelson, Valerie Shesko, Josiane Trageser and Martha Weber tackle the popular subject in a variety of media. If you don't find a familiar name in this collection, drop by and get acquainted with their interpretations of the Ohio Valley terrain before June 30. Info: 513-361-2127.

We're too late to trot down to the Derby for the Governor's Mansion KENTUCKY VISIONS: 2001 in which our own pretty well-known Tom Mitts was included. His work is often shown around the Cincinnati area -- it's next up at Mullane's Parkside Café, billed as Nocturnal Illumination, opening June 2. He's the guy who does those glowing night scenes of familiar neighborhoods around Newport. Miss him during his show at Mullane's and you can still catch his work at some of the Cincinnati Art Club shows. Info: 859-581-5439.
