November 8, 2002 -- We kick off 'A
November to Remember' with the Mad Hatters Face Painting squad unleashing
some of your favorite Pokémon® characters on the delighted
faces of Pokémon fans who ventured to the store last weekend –
and we’ve got more in store!
Last
weekend, we kicked off our 'A November to Remember' celebration
with a couple of cool events at the Pokémon Center in New York.
First up, we invited the Mad Hatters, a world-renowned troupe of face-painters
and balloon experts to come by the store and paint Pokémon characters
on the faces of anyone lucky enough to come by the store – and they
came by in record numbers.
Hundreds
of kids showed up to get the Pokemon of their choice (and they picked
a wide variety of Pokémon) painted on to their cheeks, and the
results were spectacular. Everything from Mew to Pikachu to Gengar to
Raichu. Kids went crazy for the very professionally applied face paintings,
which the artists, Ricki and Fabi, administered with great care.
After
that, everyone was treated to a parade of Pokémon characters, featuring
Meowth, Pichu, and Charmander. The three lovable full-sized Pokémon
made a tour of the store, and stopped for pictures with the Pokémon
fans that passed through.
There’s more in store for November. The Mad Hatters will be back
later this month (check out our schedule by clicking HERE)
with a master balloon artist who will make any Pokémon character
into a balloon shape, and next weekend, Radio Disney will be at the store
with a full-out Pokémon party! Make sure to stop by the store and
help us celebrate 'A November to Remember'!
