Standards Too High? (Meta)

Last night there were almost 10 stories at one stage or another in the queue. Some were interesting to me, some were not. I posted comments to some interesting ones. This morning, it appears that all but one of them have been voted down or otherwise deleted.
The post threshold is 95, and the hide threshold is -20. In a community where users keep the standard so high -- which is a good thing -- the balance seems a little off.

Can K5, as a community, scale?
--
Scalability: An architecture is considered to be scalable if, unchanged, it can handle increasingly complex problems or strain that demand a greater amount of knowledge or resources.
Scoop: Scoop is designed to enable your website to become a community. It empowers your visitors to be the producers of the site, contributing news and discussion, and making sure that the signal remains high.

The edit queue is a Good Thing (TM), but has several flaws.
This article proposes the idea of Works In Progress for subscribers. Subscribers would be able to have a small number of Works in Progress, which could be commented on in the same manner as Edit Feedback operates at present.

The icon for Food topics on k5 does not look like an item of food, nor connotes food in any way. The icon should be changed.

It's only two days until Thanksgiving, and less than a month until Christmas. Though some of us wish we had a little more time to buy gifts (next year I'm starting in July, I swear), we can't deny that the holidays are here again. While the season means many things to so many people around the world, one aspect of the festivities that can't be overlooked, wherever you come from, is food. We know who you are and where you're from, so here's another chance to share something about yourself. What are your favorite recipes when it's time to come in from the cold and sit down for a big holiday meal?

Draft of the Collaborative Media Foundation Bylaws (Meta)

As long promised, here is a draft of the CMF bylaws for your perusal and public comment. I apologize in advance for the crappy word-processor html.
This document will ultimately be the basic platform which describes how the organization elects Directors and conducts business. It can be amended if that becomes necessary, but it would be better to think of as many contingencies as we can now and plan accordingly, hence this public comment draft. I suppose I could ramble on, but I think the document speaks for itself, so have at it.

On a recent story here on K5 regarding autism (K5 autism story), I noticed quite a few people taking deep dives in the underlying biological processes while they have no previous experience and / or education in the field.
