An article on the front page of Wednesday's Herald failed to specify the time frame in a medical study involving women over 65 taking hormone therapy. The study tracked 4,532 women over four years. During that period, there were 40 cases of dementia among the women who had taken the hormones, and 21 cases in the placebo group. On an annual rate, that would mean that for every 10,000 women, 45 new cases of dementia would develop, of which 23 of those cases involved those taking hormones. (
