Nomination and Designation
President Bush to Nominate One and Designate One Individual to Serve in His Administration

President Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual and his intention to designate one individual.

The President intends to nominate James E. Boasberg to be an Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia for a term of fifteen years. He has served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia since 1996. Boasberg was an associate at Kellogg, Huber, Hansen, Todd & Evans in Washington, D.C., from 1995 to 1996, and from 1991 to 1994, he was an associate at Keker & Van Nest in San Francisco, California. He served as a law clerk for the Honorable Dorothy W. Nelson, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, from 1990 to 1991. Boasberg earned both his bachelor's and law degrees from Yale University.

The President intends to designate Edward J. Damich to be Chief Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims.
