1. What can I do with Online Banking and Bill Paying?

Answer: Most online banking services allow you to:

  • Check your account balances
  • Transfer funds between accounts
  • Review statements and other account information
  • Send email to your banker
  • Download information to a personal finance software program such as Quicken® or Microsoft Money®

In addition, Online Bill Paying allows you to:

  • Receive selected bills electronically
  • Pay your bills online.

2. Why should I use Online Banking and Bill Paying?

Answer: Speed, convenience and lower cost. Online Banking is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. So you can make transfers and review account activity on
your schedule, not the banker's hours. Paying your bills online is faster than using your pen and paper. And you'll never again worry about finding stamps and licking envelopes again. You can set up one-time payments or recurring bill payments for things like your rent or mortgage. No longer will you have to spend the time to write checks and deliver them to the post office. After setting up your payees with your first payment, additional payments are easy as clicking on your payee, entering the amount you would like to pay, and clicking "submit".

3. Is there a charge for Online Banking and Bill Paying?

Answer: Online Banking is generally free to customers. Some banks charge $5.00 to $10.00 per month for Online Bill Pay. Online Banking and Online Bill Paying is free for customers of Coconut Grove Bank. If you are not currently a customer please visit one of our locations to open your account.

4. What do I need to use Online Banking and Bill Paying?

Answer: All you need to take advantage of online banking is an online banking account, email address and a computer with Internet access.

5. What are the system requirements for Online Banking?

Answer:Generally, an IBM PC computer or compatible or Macintosh; the operating system must be Windows 95 or higher; net browser should be a Netscape Navigator version 4.05 or better or Microsoft Internet Explorer* version 4.0 or better; 128 bit Encryption Plug, Java Script and cookies must be enabled; a modem 28 KBPS or better; and Internet access through an Internet Service Provider (ISP); and, must have an email address.

6. Who can I pay with Bill Pay?

Answer:You can pay any person or entity with an address in the United States. However, you cannot use Online Bill Pay to make payments to the IRS or court ordered payments.

7. How long does it take for my payment to reach my payee?

Answer:You should allow 5 business days for your payments to be sent, and subsequently received, and processed by the payee.

8. When I make a payment is my payee credited electronically?

There are several ways that your payment may be sent to the payee. First method is electronically, the second is a cashier's check that is mailed to the customer. For additional information, contact your institution.

9. What happens if there are insufficient funds to make a payment?

You must have sufficient funds available to complete any authorized payments. If there are not sufficient funds available we will continue to try to submit your payment daily until the funds become available unless you notify us to cancel the payment. This can be done by deleting the payment date and/or amount from your payment list and clicking "submit". You can delete a payment anytime up to two days prior to the due date.

10. What security measures are used to insure the privacy and security of my information?

Coconut Grove Bank uses a technology called Secure Socket Layers (SSL) to scramble the information that you send us. This technology protects the information you submit or receive through Coconut Grove Bank Online. Of course, your account information is only as safe as your password. No one at Coconut Grove Bank knows your password. Protect your password, you should not write it down and leave it taped to your computer screen!

11. What is 128-bit encryption?

Encryption is a method of scrambling information transmitted over the Internet to protect your privacy and security. 128-bit encryption is the highest form of encryption available commercially for the Internet today.
