As summer recedes, the arts come abloom in South Florida
After a lazy summer of dog days and cat naps, popcorn movies and reality TV, it's time for something more substantial. Granted, it's fall in South Florida so there are still some hot days ahead. But some of that heat will be radiating from our stages and galleries, as local groups and international acts strut their stuff. EDITOR'S NOTE

It's my last seasonal society calendar and I have a slew of spectacular soirees for you to attend. Use this calendar to view the latest couture ensembles at the next black tie-gala, hit the open sea for a charity fishing tourney or tee off with a celebrity golfing legend for a fantastic cause.
GRAND PRIX AMERICAS
WEDNESDAY 6-8 p.m.: Fan Fest at Bayside Marketplace. Cars, drivers and the Miss Grand Prix Americas Pageant. Free. THURSDAY 6-11 p.m.: Champ Car night in Coconut Grove. Between the Main Highway and Grand Avenue on Commodore Plaza. Music, prizes, pit-crew demonstrations. Free. (
