The tank battle at Prokhorovka was won by the Soviets. This battle caused heavy tolls for the Wehrmacht: a great number of soldiers and almost 400 tanks. |

Germany got 45% of its oil supplies from Romania, which was captured by the Soviets in August 1944. |

It was successful solution to put into operation 3rd Guard Tank Army in the right wing of Central Front, the sector of 48th Army. By the end of the formation day, after breaking-through the interim defense zone, the Soviets moved to the northwest 35-40 km deep.
