Prokhorovka battle
The tank battle at Prokhorovka was won by the Soviets. This battle caused heavy tolls for the Wehrmacht: a great number of soldiers and almost 400 tanks.

 Timeline  Details
The Soviets began artillery preparation early in the morning. Powerful forces of the Germans attacked on the northern and southern faces of Kursk Bulge. They received offensive defense of the Soviets on Central and Voronezh fronts. That day gave evidence of unbreakable opposition of the Soviet Army. The opposition could not be crushed at one blow. Joint Staff of land forces had to press Army Group Centre Commander-in-Chief Kluge for throwing reserve echelons into battle.
