Prokhorovka battle |

The tank battle at Prokhorovka was won by the Soviets. This battle caused heavy tolls for the Wehrmacht: a great number of soldiers and almost 400 tanks. |

Vasily Badanov, General
(1895-1971)
The Lieutenant-General Badanov was born in 1895 in Ulyanovsk region. He held the posts of the Commander of 55th Armored Division (1941), the Commander of 12th Tank Brigade (1941-1942), the Commander of 24th Tank Corps of the South-East front, the Commander of 2nd Guards Tank Corps. Till 1944 Badanov has been the Commander of 4th Tank Army.
After the war he was the Head of the Administration of Colleges of the Head Office of combat training.
Badanov was the first person, who received the Order of Suvorov (II). He was rewarded for the operations of gaining the rear of the enemy and destruction of German airdrome at Tatsinskaya station (the airdrome, General Paulus Group of Armies was supplied from).
