Jim Reilly hints Next Grand Theft Auto for 2012

GTAGaming.com - General News | @ 01:50 AM MDT | By Ash_735
IGN news editor Jim Reilly has recently tweeted something interesting regarding the release of the Next Grand Theft Auto game:
With Grand Theft Auto V and BioShock Infinite coming in 2012, now's the time to buy some Take-Two stock.

Could we have our first somewhat confirmation of a release date? After all it would fit in with L.A.Noire coming out in a mere few weeks and the promotion campaign for Max Payne 3 starting to heat up with a rumored release for the end of the year!

Activison takes Majority Share of Take-Two

GTAGaming.com - General News | @ 05:00 PM MDT | By Ash_735
UPDATE: Yes this is an April Fools Joke, sorry if we scared some of you out there! Special thanks to GTA Network France for coming up with this idea and thanks to GTA Légende, GTANetwork.it, Sector-Rockstargames, GTAForums.fr and The GTA Place for helping to spread this prank as much as possible!

It is previously known that Activision have had an interest in taking over Take-Two Games and earlier this morning Activision launched a stock take over of Take-Two, buying majority shares and starting the take over process. This means that Activision will soon own all studios under Take-Two's belt, that includes developers such as 2K Games and of course Rockstar Games. The take over also gives Activision ownership rights of IP's currently owned by Take-Two which includes the Grand Theft Auto series, along with the likes of BioShock, Mafia, Max Payne, Red Dead, etc.

An Activision representative has commented on the situation, stating that "Activision are more than happy to become the new home of Grand Theft Auto and many other great franchises, we hope that we can get along with Rockstar Games and give them that special Activision treatment the likes that Call of Duty and Guitar Hero received!". Rockstar have not yet commented on the situation.

Hard Charger: Wide Open - A GTA IV Police Chase

Grand Theft Auto IV - General News | @ 06:25 PM MDT | By Ash_735
What would happen if Grand Theft Auto IV met a 1970's Cop Show, ....which was then remade in 2011 by Michael Bay? Whilst I can't be certain of the final results, I can say it might look a little like this:

Are we going back to Los Santos?

GTAGaming.com - General News | @ 08:10 PM MDT | By Ash_735
Rumours are strife at the moment, we're sure you've read things here and there about domains being registered (which Take-Two have done in the past to also throw people off) and then we've had editors tweeting about a certain game being "interesting". Now, over on The Agency website, they've listed a new project "RUSH" which is tied to Take-Two Interactive, who as we all know are Rockstar Game's parent company. And here is the cast they are looking for actors for:
Mitch Hayes:
38 – Annoying, wise cracking, highly successful FBI agent. In great shape. Does triathlons, drinks low cal beer, but still has a sense of humor.

Miguel Gonzalez:
25 Young Mexican American FBI agent, caught between a few mob bosses. Very clean cut

Clyde:
23 – Moronic, almost inbred and creepy white trash hillbilly. Very naïve but in a creepy ‘it’s only incest sort of way’

Brother Adam:
Welsh monk / cult leader / yoga teacher – 50, very lithe, very into exploring your personal tension through gripping massage. Needs Welsh accent.

Mrs Avery:
Neurotic soccer mom, home maker, 48, anxious and addled on pain killers. Very angry at neighbor MRS Bell.

Mrs Bell:
Swinger, and mellow Californian divorcee. 45. Ugly but comfortable with self.

Eddie:
47 – Weed evangelist, guy who started smoking at 30, and is now a leading proponent of marijuana’s fantastic properties. White, awkward.

Ira Bernstein:
56 – publicist for an actress known as America’s newest sweetheart who just so happens to love animals, orphans, drugs and sex. He’s always trying to hide her latest indiscretion.

Kevin De Silva:
18 – Albert’s fat, FPS playing gamer son. Smokes a lot of weed, has anxiety issues and a card for a bad back, very soft, very opinionated. Into making racist comments while playing online.

Harut Vartanyan:
42-52 years old – Armenian car dealer, moneylender, would be Fagin and would be bully. Heavily connected to the underworld, but irritates people so much no one likes him.

Nervous Jerry:
48 – paranoiac living in the sticks, near Simon, completely paranoid, and terrified of Simon.

Calvin North:
55 – clapped out FBI agent who now mostly works offering advice on TV shows – whose only claim to fame turns out to be entirely false – but a decent guy in other ways. Badly dressed. Divorced. Putting on weight.

Jerry Cole:
53 – disabled IT expert and criminal information vendor.

Rich Roberts:
English hardman actor, 35, who acts tough but who wants to do serious work - the only problem is he can't quite read the words.

Alex:
white 52 yr old loosie goosie hippy rich guy who has lost his money and is getting desperate but trying not to.

Scarlet:
45-52 years old – unshaven female spiritualist and hippy with a love of exploring the wilderness. Very into journeys.

Chad:
29 – pretty boy misogynist Beverly Hills party boy. Made money, but not as cool as he thinks he is.

Tae Wong:
39 – somewhat incompetent Chinese mobster, loves doing ecstasy, going to raves.

Taes Translator:
45 - VERY STRAIGHT LACED Chinese translator, terrified of his boss’s dad. Male, awkward. Needs to speak Chinese.

Now, of course this is still a rumour but we do know that Grand Theft Auto went under a different name in the past, Michael Hollick (the voice of Niko Bellic) revealed that Grand Theft Auto IV was titled "FROZEN" during the casting phase. So make of this what you will, we'll be interested in hearing your theories.
