Faxing can be a hangup
TECH Q&A Q: I can surf the Net but not send a fax. When I click Send, ''Communication port unavailable'' appears. I asked AOL, Dell and makers of my Phone Tools software, and they told me to reinstall the software, but I still have the problem.

Q: I run programs to remove adware and spyware from my computer. If I knew what was installing this stuff in the first place, I could stop it at the source. How do I find out?

`Critical updates' ignored
Q: Nearly every day I get a Critical Updates notification on my Windows 98 computer, download the update, and it says it's already been installed. I've found it frustrating trying to get support from Microsoft on this.
