Modest makes successful V1 defense

Modest makes successful V1 defense by Stuart - 06/02/03
Michael Modest made a successful V1 defense of his GHC Jr. Heavyweight Title at today's Pro Wrestling Iron show in Cloverdale, California. This was the first major Japanese title to be defended in the USA since the ill-fated Liger/Juventud Guerrera/Psicosis fiasco with the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title back in late 1999 WCW. This defense was treated with a lot more respect (but then, a brick wall has more respect for wrestling tradition than Vince Russo) than that, with a signing ceremony before the event and all.
