Great work
From April to June 1943 a great work has been done at the Kursk Bulge: powerful line of defense, 300 km deep from front line and composed of 8 firing lines, has been created. Trenches and communications were stretched out to 10,000 km.
The Kursk defense operation
2,582 people, 37,800 guns and mortars, 8,000 tanks and artillery self-propelled guns, 6,000 war-planes were involved at Kursk defense actions.

 Timeline  Details
The second day of the battle German-fascist Command started with powerful air and artillery attacks. Then dozens of tanks and assault guns were brought into action. fighting flared up in main direction – Olkhovatka, and headed for Maloarkhangelsk and Gnilets. During 2 days the enemy went 6-10 km deep into soviet defense and had a loss of more than 25,000 soldiers and large quantity of military equipment. German 9th Army Command had to turn down concurrently attacks in Olkhovatka, Maloarkhangelsk and Gnilets directions.
