Prokhorovka battle
The tank battle at Prokhorovka was won by the Soviets. This battle caused heavy tolls for the Wehrmacht: a great number of soldiers and almost 400 tanks.
Oil Supplies
Germany got 45% of its oil supplies from Romania, which was captured by the Soviets in August 1944.

Ivan Feduninsky, General
(1900-1977)

Was born in 1900 in Sverdlovsk region in a family of a worker. Fedjuninski graduated from the Infantry school (1924), “Vystrel” courses (1931), High Academic courses attached to the Military Academy of HQ (1948). He participated in the Civil war and Far East battles (1939) During WWII Fedjuninski was at the head of 32nd, 42nd, 54th, 11th Armies, which were at the battles of Leningrad. In 1941 Fedjuninski was the Commander of Leningrad front, in 1942-1943 – the Deputy of the Commander of Volkhov front, the Commander of 2nd Shock army. After the war Fedjuninski was at the head of commands, 1st Assistant of the Commander-in-Chief of Soviet Forces Group in Germany. In 1961 Fedjuninski wrote memoirs “Roused up by the sound of alarm”.
