Santa Claus to visit Fort Hall By Journal Staff FORT HALL - Santa Claus will ride his sleigh into Fort Hall this weekend. The jolly elf will visit between 400 and 500 children Saturday morning throughout the Fort Hall Indian Reservation. It's a tradition that has been in place for about 35 years, Fort Hall Recreation Director Mike Sakelaris said. Children know when Santa is coming, and often rush out to greet him, sometimes still in pajamas. "It's a real experience," Sakelaris says. The sleigh will be followed by a fire engine and several cars carrying the presents, leaving Timbee Hall early Saturday morning. At noon, Santa Claus will return to Timbee Hall to hand out T-shirts and bags of candy. Health Educator Hank Edmo-McArthur said two gymnastics rooms at Timbee Hall Recreation Center are filled with gifts bought with tribal recreation money and donations. "We have so much stuff. Santa is going to have a lot of elves this year," Edmo-McArthur said. Sakelaris said people were very generous. "It's just the season to be jolly, I guess," he said.
