Prokhorovka battle
1,200 tanks and self-propelled guns have been used at Prokhorovka.
The Kursk defense operation
2,582 people, 37,800 guns and mortars, 8,000 tanks and artillery self-propelled guns, 6,000 war-planes were involved at Kursk defense actions.

Renewal of attack. In order to raising the force Hitler commanded to place under Army Group Centre control almost one third of Army Group South aviation. The German command, having received stubborn resistance in Oboyan direction, made the main attack in Prokhorovka direction. The idea was to reach Kursk in a roundabout way. Indeed, on 10th and 11th of July, formation of 4th Tank Army and “Kampf” group started an offensive battle in Prokhorovka direction. As Stavka of the Soviet Supreme High Command has ordered, it was finished the recent preparations for offensive actions of Bryansk front forces and left of West front forces. The High Command of Wehrmacht ordered “Operation Zitadelle should be continued!” Shock troop of 9th Army could not penetrate into the Soviet Army defense.
