HIV Capacity-Building Assistance Program

The Asian & Pacific Islander HIV Capacity-Building Assistance Program provides capacity building assistance (CBA) in program development, community mobilization, HIV prevention community planning, organizational development, and new technology. Some specific topic areas include:

Intervention Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation
APIAHF and its partner agencies provide assistance through on-demand and on-going CBA requests, local / regional / national meetings, skills-building trainings, conferences, and other activities. CBA is provided utilizing a peer-to-peer model, with participation from CBO service providers, researchers, graduate students, and community stakeholders. CBA is also provided through development and dissemination of materials from APIAHF’s national resource center.

Community Mobilization
APIAHF and its partner agencies provide assistance in developing leadership, program models, best practice reports, community based research, and policy analysis specifically for Asian & Pacific Islander women and youth populations through networks, partnerships and coalitions.

HIV Prevention Community Planning Effectiveness and Participation
APIAHF and its partner agencies provide assistance data utilization, leadership development, inclusion and representation in HIV prevention community planning processes, and the development of manuals, workshops and trainings focused on HIV prevention community planning.

New Technologies
APIAHF provides assistance through its web-based API HIV Resource Center and its HIV electronic mailing lists. Planning support is provided for HIV programs that are developing new technology applications for HIV programs, including interactive internet-based HIV prevention interventions, data gathering, and information dissemination.
