Natalie Bassingthwaighte has been to many auditions in her time as an actor, but one sticks out in her mind as the funniest.

"My funniest audition was for Fererro Rocher chocolate," she said. "I think it was my first audition, actually and I had no idea what I was doing. I rocked up and they asked me to put the chocolate in my mouth and to eat it kind of seductively. I was only 15 at the time."

Just like her character, Izzy, Natalie is known for doing things by halves and this definitely affected her audition.

"They said action and I took the wrapper off and I put the whole chocolate in my mouth," laughed Natalie. "Fererro Rochers aren't that small, so I was trying to be sexy with it in my mouth and they were all laughing their heads off at me and I had no idea why. I was so naïve. They later told me that they had just wanted me to take a small bite."

When asked what audition tips she would give to up and coming actors, Natalie answered,

"Just make sure you're really prepared. If you have a script to learn, make sure you know it inside out and back to front," Natalie advised. "If you have the opportunity to get the full script read the whole thing and know as much about the director and the producers as you can and see what they have done before. Create the character that you want, but be willing to take notes from the director and give them exactly what they want. Go in there with lots of ideas though and be open to change them. Also, be yourself and relax. Have a good time."

Natalie forgot to add that it's also difficult to eat seductively with your mouth full. Just like the audition process, you have to take it one bit at a time.
