JANUARY

Mild or very mild and very wet during the first half, rather cold and drier later with some frost.

Mildest January since 1994, the wettest since 1995 and the sunniest since 1994.

Very mild, very dry and sunny.

The mildest February since 1990 and the second mildest since 1869. It is also the driest February since 1993 and the seventh driest this century. The eight sunniest February since records began in 1909.

Mild generally, but dull at times. Very wet in the first week. Mainly dry during the middle two weeks with some night frost at times. Very mild during the closing days.

This has been the wettest march since 1994 and the seventh warmest this century.

APRIL
MAY
JUNE

Very wet. Colder than March.

This has been the wettest April since 1818 and the third wettest April since records began in 1766. It has been the coldest April since 1989.

Dry and very warm at times, but with some thunderstorms.

This has been the warmest May since 1992 and the driest since 1991.

Very wet, and unsettled with some thunderstorms at times. Rather dull.

This has been the fourth wettest June this century (not as wet as 1997 though).

JULY
AUGUST
SEPTEMBER

A dull and unsettled month

This has been the dullest July since 1992 and the coldest and wettest since 1993.

Mostly dry, more changeable in the North and sunny at times in the South.

This has been the coolest and dullest August since 1994 and the driest since 1995.

Mostly warm unsettled and wet, but with a dry interlude during the third week.

This has been (along with 1980, 1989 and 1991) the warmest September since 1961 and the 8th warmest this century.

OCTOBER
NOVEMBER
DECEMBER

Mostly wet and windy, a cold start, but mainly mild during the middle fortnight. Notable gale in the last week then colder. Record breaking rainfall in places.

This has been the wettest October since 1987 and the dullest since 1992.

Mostly changeable with rain at times especially in the west. Mild at first but a colder spell later with some fog and frost.

This has been the driest November since 1993.

Cold in the first week, then mainly mild, windy and wet. Severe gales in the north on Boxing Day.

This has been a statistically near average December.
