SSHRC's approved base budget for 2004-05 = $230 million (includes the Initiative on the New Economy (INE), Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE), and the Canada Graduate Scholarships (CGS)).

Grants and scholarships (including INE, NCE and CGS): $211 million
Operating budget: $19 million
Initiative on the New Economy: $22 million
Networks of Centres of Excellence: $11 million
Canada Research Chairs Program: $59 million
Canada Graduate Scholarships: $32 million
