The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) respects your privacy. Our policy is that no personal information will be collected about you unless you choose to provide it.

Our web server automatically records the domain name and Internet Protocol (IP) address of each visitor to our site. We collect and analyze this information to help us improve the site and its resources for our visitors. This information helps us determine which pages you visit, how long you stay and the site you visited immediately beforehand.

GLAAD will occasionally exchange email addresses with other organizations through promotions, partnerships or otherwise. You have the option of not receiving these emails by opting out in your user profile or by contacting GLAAD directly to make this request.

Polls and Surveys

We will record your IP address when you respond to polls and surveys, but your responses will not be linked to your computer or to your user profile. We do this to prevent multiple submissions from the same person and/or email address. Participation in surveys or polls is voluntary.

"Send to a Friend" Policy

Our Web site allows you to forward a variety of documents and publications to friends and family via Web forms. When you use glaad.org's Web forms to "Send to a Friend," we store a record of your entry to analyze and determine usage statistics. The e-mail address(es) you send to are not shared, or otherwise used by GLAAD.
