Introduction

This Guide explains to grant holders, research administrators and business officers the regulations governing the use of SSHRC grant funds. It supersedes all previous statements on grant regulations by SSHRC.

This Guide applies to the following SSHRC grants only:

• Standard Research Grants, Strategic Themes, Strategic Joint Initiatives, Major Collaborative Research Initiatives (MCRI)

• Community-University Research Alliances (CURA)

• Aid to Occasional Research Conferences and International Congresses in Canada

• Aid to Research and Transfer Journals, Grants to Scholarly Associations

• Aid to Small Universities, SSHRC Institutional Grants

SSHRC reserves the right to interpret these guidelines and any conditions attached to individual grants. SSHRC administration officers can answer specific questions about grant administration.

SSHRC may find it necessary to alter, without advance notice, terms and conditions of grant awards. Any major changes will be announced promptly.
