Council Members

Sean Caulfield Sean Caulfield, a respected printmaker, is the Canada Research Chair in Printmaking and an associate professor at the University of Alberta. A recipient of the first fine arts research chair in Canada, he finds inspiration for his silkscreens, etchings and woodcuts from classical music and literature, among other sources. Professor Caulfield received his master’s degree in fine arts from the University of Alberta in 1995 and went on to teach graphic arts at Northern Illinois University and Illinois State University before returning to the University of Alberta. He has won numerous awards, including the grand prize at the Third 21st Century Grand Prix Exhibition in Tokyo. His works have been exhibited throughout Canada, the United States, Europe, China and Japan and are included in a number of public and private collections.
