Q: I already receive the print magazine and/or newsletters.
Does this mean I'm registered with the site?
Q: I received my login information. Now what?

Q: I already receive the print magazine and/or newsletters.
Does this mean I'm registered with the site?
A: If you're subscribed to the print magazine, any of the newsletters, or the
forum, it doesn't necessarily mean you're registered with the site. Group site
registration is independent of these. To be able to access online content within
the site, you need to register.
Q: I received my login information. Now what?
A: Log in. Once you do you have access to all content at each site.
Q.: I keep getting an error message when I try to register.
What's wrong?
A: The first suggestion would be to make sure that you have your browser preference
set to allow cookies (for authentication purposes). Your cookie preferences
can be set to "not accept third party cookies", except
if you are using Opera. Because of redirects, Opera interprets some of
the cookies as third party. So, if using Opera, the preference would have to
be set to "accept all cookies".
Q: I've created multiple logins and none of them work. Why?
A: There are probably now several conflicting cookies set on your computer.
It might be a good idea to:
1. write down the username and password you intend
to use
2. delete any sdmediagroup cookies you may have on your
computer and attempt to login 'clean'
Q: The form doesn't let me choose what type of credit card
I have. What types of credit cards do you support?
A: The first digit of a credit card designates which type of card it is. We
currently support Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Unfortunately, at the
present time, we are not able to accept Discover cards.
Q: I've forgotten my password. What can I do? / I want to
reset my password.
A: You can reset your password by selecting this option from the navigation
bar on any of our sites (sometimes found under the "My Account" link in the
navigation bar). A new one will be emailed to the address with which you registered.
Q: How can I change the name and email address I registered
with?
A: Go to the "My Account" link on the site navigation bar and enter your username
and password in to the form at the bottom. Click "Submit" and you will see your
preferences. You can update your information there.
Q: Will there be a fee to access this site?
A: Some of our web sites are user supported. Byte.com and The Perl Journal are
two of our sites that require an annual subscription fee to gain access to the
content. Other sites may present multiple options to gain access such as a fee
or a short questionnaire.
Q: What will my email address be used for?
A: At the most basic level your email address is required to gain access to
the site you are trying to visit. It is only used to contact you in regards
to your account (receipts, changing your password, etc).
Other options will be presented to you once you have created an account. It
is not required that you participate in any other options.
