Many of our parishes have, or wish to start, ministries to those who are sick, dying, or homebound. Many parish volunteers and staff visit hospitals, pray with the dying and their families, bring communion to the sick at home, in nursing homes and in hospitals or visit those who are not able to join the Sunday Assembly. These workshops are for you. Presentation will focus on the spirituality of visiting the sick and dying, the practicalities of these visits, whether at home or in hospitals or nursing homes, and a review of the rituals and prayers which the Church gives us to pray.
It is training intended for the ministers, those who schedule or are coordinators of this ministry, and parish staff and clergy who are responsible for this ministry.
