The Office of Ecumenical and Interfaith Concerns is part of the Department for Worship and Pastoral Services. The staff provide resources and support for ecumenical and interfaith dialogues and activities at the parish and diocesan levels.
This office works directly with parishes and other archdiocesan entities to provide resources in the areas of education, dialogue and prayer and worship. Training for Parish Interfaith and Ecumenical Representatives (PIERS) is also offered through the office.
Support is provided for local and community-wide programs that enhance ecumenical and/or interfaith understanding and provide opportunities for common worship and joint social action.
The office supports several dialogues, including the Lutheran, Anglican, Roman Catholic (LARC) dialogue, the United Methodist/Roman Catholic dialogue, the Catholic-Jewish dialogue, and the Islamic/Catholic dialogue. |
