Parish Consultants

The Parish Consultants Office is a part of the Department for Worship and Pastoral Services. Parish consultants work with parish leaders in many ways, including assisting in problem solving; conflict resolution or needs assessment; leadership training, council and committee in-service, retreats and days of reflection; facilitation of planning, collaboration, consolidation or transition efforts.

Parish consultants cultivate relationships with the parish leaders of their districts in order to understand their parish needs and refer them to appropriate central office staff for specific services. Likewise, they help archdiocesan staff understand the characteristics and needs of particular parishes and link staff to them appropriately. The parish consultants help parishes in their districts to move forward. They give service where and in whatever form parishes need it, and when parishes are thriving, the consultants affirm this in any way they can.

The parish consultants serve as archdiocesan liaisons to all parishes of the diocese. Consultants also track trends among the parishes in their districts to see if any patterns merit concern.
