The Institute of Psychosynthesis

The Istituto di Psicosintesi founded by Roberto Assagioli in Rome in 1926, and reopened in 1951 after an interruption during the years of the war, was set up as an officially registered non-profit making organization on 1st August 1965.

Its statutory aims are: "to spread the knowledge and favour the development of Psychosynthesis as an integral conception of the human personality, as well as promoting its applications in the fields of self-growth, education and psychotherapy, interpersonal and social relations".

In his will Roberto Assagioli left everything to the Institute. It contains his library and an archive of his manuscripts and notes, some of which as yet unpublished.

The Institute of Psychosynthesis is organized so that its numerous Centers, in the principal Italian cities carry out the various activities. Each Center publicizes its yearly program of activities.

These activites include the five areas of application of psychosynthesis, as per the Statute, and take the form of conferences, seminars, topical and training courses.

There is a Training Program for preparing those interested in becoming collaborators of the Institute, and a Course in the Application of Psychosynthesis that offers the psychosynthesis model to people of varying professions.

The Institute of Psychosynthesis and S.I.P.T. together form the legally recognized Post-graduate School that runs a four-year course in psychotherapy.

The Istituto di Psicosintesi is in Florence, in Via S.Domenico 16. It is run by a governing board elected at the Member’s Meeting every three years.
