More info: Rare plants and insects can be found in the park and it is home to important wintering populations of wildfowl such as bitterns. Fulmars nest in Salisbury Crags.
Getting there:
By foot: From central Edinburgh, walk to the bottom of the Royal Mile, turn right and you will see the car park and start point ahead of you.
By car: Drive to start point, (see map) parking available in the free car park.
Walk conditions
Initial path is tarmac and becomes compacted earth/stone that can become muddy after rain. Gentle climb to halfway point. Descent down the Radical Road is often steep - watch your footing!
