Baroque Art (17th Century)

Stylistic diversity characterizes the Baroque era. Heightened naturalism, and interest in the mind, the classical influence, and the greater attention to the concepts of space, time, and light convey the artist's desire to produce more real, dramatic, and theatrical art.

The museum owns works by Jan I Van Kessel , Sir Peter Lely, Simone Pignoni, Jan Albertz Rootius, Salomon van Ruisdael, and Massimo Stanzione.
