MISSING NYC Fireman Paul Keating

Paulie is a friend who through mutual friends we've spent many evenings/days over the past 10 years both home/out laughing and kicking back, until we developed a relationship that always made us stop, smile, :-) & catch up whenever we ran into each other.

It appears he very well may have been THE 1st NYC FIREMAN ON SITE. How can we say that? Paulie lives literally across the street from the Trade Center, and was off duty that morning, talking to his sister on the phone when he heard the first explosion and glass falling. Without hesitation he told her he had to go and ran out. This is the last contact we know of with him. In the photos below thier is one from TIME Mag. we believe to be him.

Nothing is confirmed, he's only missing at this point so I won't go on as if he were gone, but will go on and hope.

If ANYONE has ANY information to the contrary about Paulie then PLEASE Contact Us.

If you would like to add something about Paulie, or another friend whose missing then Contact Us we would be happy to post thier name, your thoughts/words, and even pictures.

As quoted from Michael Amsel Staff Writer of the Asbury Park Press, 09/14/01:

"It was just a few days ago that Paul Keating celebrated his 37th birthday. Last week, the New York City firefighter was at his parent's home in Spring Lake Heights smiling and laughing with his family. Keating who has three brothers and six sisters, shares his birthday celebrations with five of his siblings because they were all born in September, said his father, Neil Keating.

"Birthdays are a big deal for us," Neil Keating said. "He was just laughing and having a good time with us last week."

Keating said his son, Paul a member of the 245 Truck Company in New York City, was in Lower Manhattan talking to his sister, Jeanie, on his cellular telephone before he witnessed the first hijacked airplane crashing into the World Trade Center south building. Paul who was off-duty, then told his sister what had happened, got off the phone and went to go aid a local fire company in the city, Keating said.

"We had no word since, we have a lot of hope and we're praying," Keating said. "We have all of Spring Lake Heights praying.""
