Hello, and welcome to today’s Live Chat with Busted. Punk pop trio Busted are
releasing the follow up to their Top 3 hit, "What I Go To School For" on 13th January 2003.
"Year 3000" was written by NYSNC obsessed James, Hammers-supporting Matt and resident
posh-crumpet Charlie. And it was inspired by James' love for the classic sci-fi comedy
flick, Back To The Future. They've choons by the lorryload and their ambition is to take their music
to the world, maintain their cheeky view of pop and, of course, have enuff fun! Charts
beware: you're about to be busted!
From Lucy, Ipswich: What do you enjoy most about being in Busted?
Busted Matt: Freebies are good! Before Busted we never got anything for free, but now
we do!
Busted James: Performing
Busted Charlie: Being in front of the fans
From Laura, Yorkshire: What do you really think the year 3000 will be like?
Busted Matt: Hopefully not too much like what we say it is - I don't fancy living
underwater!
Busted Charlie: I think we'll be on another planet. I think we'll have moved on! I
think earth will be gone!
From Maggie, Bedz: Was your song 'what i go to school for' based on a real experience
with one of you guys?
Busted Charlie: Matt had a crush on his schoolteacher - Michelle!
From cherryuk19: Do any of Busted have girlfriends??
Busted Matt: Too busy!
Busted Charlie: Unfortunately not.
Busted Matt: Too much hassle.
Busted James: Same for me.
Busted Matt: It's nice being bachelors and being free!
From Jaz: Big fans of yourselves would know how your band name Busted came around,
but it was origionally Buster - who thought of it, and why?
Busted Matt: There wasn't enough thought into it!
Busted James: I think we were just thinking of a name, and that one stuck.
Busted Matt: We never really thought of it properly.
Busted James: It's hard to think of good band names.
Busted Charlie: Some bands like the Smashing Pumpkins have awful names but they're
really cool. Unless you're called One True Voice!
From mairi: Hey guys, what is the best freebie you've all had since you've been
famous?
Busted Matt: My CD collection!
Busted James: I have loads of CDs now.
Busted Matt: Thousands!
From i_Love_Charlie: How long did it take you to write the song?
Busted Charlie: It was based on Back to the Future the film...
Busted Matt: We just wrote lyrics that came into our head just for the sake of melody -
so we put some silly words in there.
Busted Charlie: It was just a joke but ended up being released!
From Nishtro: I heard you on Trent FM and I liked your acoustic version! Are you
going to do that for all the tracks?
Busted Charlie: It's on the CD, the acoustic track.
Busted James: All our songs are written on acoustic guitar.
Busted Charlie: It's really cool just to sit down and sing totally raw.
From visitor_MaryandBecca: What bands have influenced you the most?
Busted Matt: As a band I think Blink 182, American pop-punk...
Busted James: And films!
